Open Choice Program
Open Choice Program
The Open Choice program aims to empower students by providing them with access to high-quality educational opportunities. By breaking down barriers of racial, ethnic and economic isolation, we strive to create a more equitable and inclusive learning environment. Our goal is to foster strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and technology proficiency, preparing students to thrive in an interconnected world.
Simsbury schools offer a wide range of guaranteed experiences, including sports, after-school clubs, and activities to enrich students' lives and provide opportunities for personal growth and development.

Open Choice is more than a program—it’s an opportunity. For Hartford residents, it offers access to new educational experiences and pathways beyond their neighborhood schools. Aswe celebrate 60 years of impact, we honor generations of families who have chosen public education as a foundation for growth, connection, and possibility. Simsbury Public Schools, one of the founding five districts, is proud to be part of this legacy. This video showcases the voices and experiences of both past and current students and staff who have helped shape the program.
