    HJMS LIBRARY PROCEDURES

    CIRCULATION

    • Individuals may check out all materials for two weeks, and items may be renewed as long as they are not on hold for another patron.
    • E-books are automatically returned after two weeks.

     

    OVERDUE NOTICES

    • Emails will be sent out to patrons and guardians.
    • All overdue materials must be returned at the end of the semester to avoid receiving a bill.
    • Students are required to pay for lost or stolen materials. 

     

    CHROMEBOOK USAGE:

     

    • All devices must be charged at home. Please be sure to have a fully charged Chromebook at the start of each day.
    • Cell phones must be off and away in lockers during the school day.

     

    PASSWORDS

    • Students will use district-issued logins and passwords for many programs. If you are unable to access information because of a password problem, please see Mrs. Callahan or Ms. Anderson.
    • Databases requiring general schoolwide usernames and passwords can be found in the Virtual Library.

     

    DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

    • HJMS offers students several opportunities to work collaboratively with other students and teachers. Please be reminded that these environments are an extension of your classroom and the language, tone and content of the material that you share should reflect this.

    FLEX ACCESS

    • The mission of the library media center program is to "enable students to become independent, information literate, life-long learners." To achieve this mission, the Simsbury Library Media Centers embrace an open access/flexible scheduling philosophy.
