Budget

                         Board of Education Budget 

During the months of February and March, the Board of Education will continue to discuss the 2024-25 budget and capital improvement plan during their budget workshop and board meetings.  The board  voted to adopt a 6-year capital improvement plan at their special meeting on February 21, 2024.  At their February 27, 2024 meeting the board voted to adopt the 2024-25 public school budget in the amount of $86,270,668 which represents an increase of $4,088,533 or 4.97%. 

The Board of Education forwarded the capital improvement plan to the Board of Selectmen for incorporation into the town capital plan.  At the presentation to the Board of Finance, it was requested that the Board of Education budget be reduced to 4.3%.  At their March 18, 2024 meeting the Board of Education voted to adopt a revised budget in the amount of $85,806,368 which represents an increase of $3,624,232 or 4.41%.  At their March 19, 2024 meeting  the Board of Finance moved the town and school budgets to a Public Hearing which was held on April 3, 2024.  A continuation of the Public Hearing will be held on April 16, 2024. The budget referendum is tentatively set for May 14, 2024 at Henry James Memorial School.
