In January 2020, the Art Department embarked on a comprehensive project, to document the history of the wall murals of Simsbury High School. This project could not have been completed without the anecdotes and insight from retiring teacher and artist Dave Holzman, who devoted so much time over the years to inspiring young artists and guiding them on the different techniques related to designing and constructing wall murals. As of May 2020, there are new designs already sketched out in new spaces, and more students are conceiving of ways that they can literally make their mark on SHS and leave their own legacy.
