Sophomores and Juniors: Simsbury High School is administering the redesigned PSAT to all sophomores and juniors on Oct. 19th at no cost to the students. The juniors who take this test are eligible for consideration in the National Merit Scholarship Program. For all students this test provides practice for the new redesigned SAT. Student guides were given to students this week.
No registration is required. All sophomores and juniors are required to take the test.

Attention Freshmen and Seniors:
The CHET Advance Scholarship is an annual program offered by the State Treasurer’s Office to help Connecticut students pay for college. Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $2500 to 100 seniors for college and up to $2500 to 100 freshmen. Recipients will be chosen through a random drawing. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is Oct. 5th. (Seniors must have a GPA of at least 2.0)

Appointments with Counselors: Students should email their counselors requesting an appointment (email addresses can be found on our website). Students should include:
- student's full name
- day/period/time he or she is available to meet
- a brief description of what will be discussed (if possible)
School counselors will reply to the student with a scheduled date and time for the appointment. For urgent situations, students may always come to the counseling office without making an appointment and one of the secretaries will assist them.
School Day PSAT: Students looking to register for the school day PSAT on October 19th will get more information in the fall. There will not be an option to register on the College Board website.
